Join our dynamic team at PPG Aerospace in Mojave, California! We're seeking a Coatings Lab Supervisor who not only excels in management but also genuinely cares for their team members.
In this important role, you'll lead and supervise our Coatings laboratory team within the Quality Assurance department, ensuring all testing is performed promptly to meet internal and external customer requirements.
As an important member of our quality team, you'll work on-site and report directly to the Quality Lab Manager of Coatings.
We are looking for commitment to a weekend shift, running from Friday to Sunday, 5:00 A.
M.
to 5:30 P.
M.
, compensated for a full forty-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities Make decisions on batch adjustments for color and physical properties and advise and train lab technicians on making such adjustments Continually improve lab processes to reduce cycle time Mentor team members to enhance their efficiency and maintain programs to track goals Ensure priorities are set-up and communicated between shifts Champion 6S standards to eliminate waste and interact with manufacturing and distribution for on-time delivery Assist multiple departments with quality-related issues, customer complaint verification, and corrective action implementation Connect with customers on pre-shipment approvals, test method discrepancies, and new test development Align with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements and procedures Qualifications Two (2) year of supervisory or related leadership experience required Three (3) years of previous experience working in a professional or academic lab environment preferred Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required Ability to wear required PPE with or without reasonable accommodation Must be a U.

Citizen or Permanent Resident Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000 Depending on experience #LI-Onsite PPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
