The Business Development Director will help grow the business by identifying new sales and business opportunities that align with company offerings.

Location: This position can be 100% remote or hybrid near one of our locations (Buffalo, NY; Durham, NC; Lancaster, CA; or Pittsburgh, PA)
Job Responsibilities:
Identify new sales leads and business opportunities that align with company offerings
Work closely with proposal team in preparing responses to requests for information
Drafting and develop work scopes, proposals, and analysis plans
Provide an external-facing persona for the company to engage new and existing clients and industry leaders
Make new connections through networking, webinars, and podium presentations at conferences and at client meetings
Lead and facilitate discussions regarding the strategic use of modeling and simulation tools and techniques to address drug development challenges
Work closely with project leads to identify new opportunities for client engagement
Develop materials to support business development and increased recognition of company products and services
Support project teams by providing strategic and technical input
Manage account executives
Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to identify needs and grow the business
Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with potential clients
Respond timely to client inquiries and call on prospective clients via a variety of communication channels (i.
e.
phone, e-mail, social media, conferences, etc.
)
Identify opportunities to expand relationships with existing customers
Work with colleagues to secure opportunities for presentations of our products and services
Contribute to the development of processes to track and manage the sales cycle
Help with continuous improvement initiatives related to sales cycle processes and management
Accurately maintain sales-related data in CRM and other sales tools
Develop analysis of the competitive landscape
Ensure all sales documentation is prepared in accordance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications:
10+ years of business development industry experience
3+ years of leadership experience
Strong organization, communication, and prioritization skills
Excellent customer service and strong sense of accountability
Outgoing personality and great networking skills
Confident using CRM tools
Work well with minimal supervision
Maintain focus and productivity while obtaining goals
Experience contributing positivity to key sales metrics
Support competitive landscape research
Great teacher and coach
Education:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, sales, or business preferred
PhD in science, sales, or business a plus
