Preliminary Credential: $68,900/year

How You Will Make an Impact:
The teacher will provide qualified educational support to parents and students by assisting with lessons/knowledge transfer.
The teacher will guide the parents and students successfully through lessons and courses to achieve student academic success.
The teacher will maintain communication and provide support as needed and will meet with the parents and students face to face a minimum of once a week each learning period.

Contact new families within 24 hours after assignment to teacher
Hold initial introductory meeting with parent and student
Meet with parent and student on a weekly basis each learning period at the resource center
Support instruction through modeling and coaching the teaching adult
Offer instructional assistance to parents and students as needed
Complete yearly academic plans that correspond to upcoming CELDT/LPAC/CAASPP/CAST/PFT Assessments
Complete report cards after each semester and when a student drops, withdraws, or promotes
Use new student information and diagnostic test results for proper placement
Serve as proctor in state standardized testing
Understand curriculum offerings and methods of delivery
Order approved student curriculum
Records Compliance - Collect student wok samples and maintain student folders
Close out student folders at the end of the learning period and when the student drops, withdraws or promotes
Adhere to compliance rules and regulations
Learn on-line platform for creating student records and assignments
Track student attendance and academic progress
Respond promptly to parent questions
Direct parent inquiries to appropriate school representatives
Collaborate across departments as needed, e.

Assist staff colleagues through collaborative teams
Contribute to school improvement efforts
Support and attend school events such as Open House, Field Trips, Promotion Ceremony, etc.
Participate in new teacher training
Attend regular staff meetings: conference calls and in-person professional development
Check email twice daily and reply accordingly
Read, maintain records and stay informed of school policies
Submit bi-monthly timesheet and other necessary staff forms
Administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
Valid California Multiple Subject/Single Subject Teaching Credential
English Learner Authorization
NCLB Highly Qualified certification
Ability to work effectively in virtual learning platforms
Ability to work in a team environment
Effective and professional communicator across media
Pioneering attitude that can accommodate change in a dynamic environment
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Teaching experience in a self-contained classroom
Fluent in Microsoft Office applications
Proficient in student information database
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mental Demands: high workflow management, high project coordination.
Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Average Hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Average Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery.
Physical Strength: sedentary work.
Sitting most of the time, and occasionally exerts up to 10 lbs.
