75 an hour DEPARTMENT: Project Independence Day Training Activity Center (DTAC) LOCATION: Lancaster FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Manager, DTAC Services A.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for implementation of training curriculum within both center-based and community-based setting and in a manner that enables each consumer to achieve his/her optimum level of functional independence.
B.
SPECIFIC DUTIES (essential functions are highlighted in bold print): Follow and implement program curriculum prescribed for specific training modalities in accordance with established DHE policy, procedures and guidelines, and department schedule.
Conduct classroom training, assign tasks and facilitate activities both on site and off site according to established curriculum and weekly schedule.
Advise supervisor of any training, tasks or activities that may require modification or could be added to the curriculum as appropriate.
Directly deliver individual and group learning experiences to assist each consumer served in obtaining his/her Individual Program Plan objectives for which DHE is responsible, as well as Individual Service Plan objectives as established by the DHE ID Team.
Implement consumers IPP and ISP goals as directed, providing support, training and guidance as outlined therein.
Ensure that all training, tasks and activities are delivered/conducted in a manner that is readily understood by consumers and is in keeping with the program’s mission and is in keeping with their individualized goals and objectives.
Make objective observations as to consumers’ abilities, behaviors and attitudes as required and complete related paperwork in keeping with established policy.
Regularly evaluate consumers’ performance and progress as required and complete related paperwork in keeping with established policy.
Provide input in interdisciplinary team decisions regarding consumer plan.
Maintain data regarding consumer progress and participate in consumer assessment, planning and evaluation processes.
Complete and submit all case notations, accident/incident reports, etc.
in accordance with established policy.
Complete and submit all monthly progress reports, semi-annual progress updates, productivity rating updates, etc.
in accordance with established policy.
Ensure compliance with consumer rules, regulations and guidelines as identified in the Consumer Handbook and advise Counselor/Program Manager of any discrepancies.
Supervise and maintain accountability of consumers at all times in a manner that ensures their safety and well-being both within the center and within the community.
Follow all safety rules, use good judgment regarding safe work behavior, cooperate with safety efforts and report all potential safety hazards immediately.
Effectively interact with other departments as required in order to maintain a cooperative working environment and to better ensure consumer success.
Advise direct supervisor of any and all communications and/or happenings that are significant and/or unusual.
Serve as positive role model for staff and consumers through adherence to regulations set forth in the Desert Haven Personnel Handbook.
Comply with DHE’s Code of Ethics and other agency policies and procedures relative to business practices, interpersonal relationships and personal conduct and advise direct supervisor or H/R department of any discrepancies or infractions noted.
Attend meetings, in-services, etc.
as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

; with a ½ hour paid lunch and two 10-minute breaks SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Consumers 6 6 QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum General Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; degree preferred in related field Specialized Education or Training: current First Aid/CPR certification; One year supervisory and/or training experience preferred; Class B license with passenger endorsement preferred (may be required) Minimum Work Experience: One year in DTAC or related setting preferred; Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
Special Skills or Attributes Required: Ability to instruct consumers in a variety of different curricula.
Ability to effectively facilitate/delegate both individual and group work assignments to consumers.
Ability to work effectively with persons with developmental disabilities.
Ability to understand and use good English and to give both oral and written instructions in a clear and concise manner that is readily understood by consumers.
Ability to write legibly and with acceptable grammatical skill.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
