Citizenship * Salary: $130,000-$150,000 annually *Job Description:* The Building Engineering Manager is responsible for the facilities engineering team at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center.
Center infrastructure and buildings are essential to the flight research activities and mission at NASA.
The candidate in this role will serve as the lead supervising engineer that is a licensed professional engineer or licensed registered architect at NASA AFRC as part of the Engineering and Technical Support Services contract.
The candidate must maintain currency of license, must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in industry and supervision, must be successful in leading others, briefing management, establishing and meeting scheduled tasks, and setting and adhering to budgets.
*Job Requirements:* * Mastery of engineering principles, building standards, and contractor oversight.
* Must be able to work and lead teams and efforts in a dynamic and multi-task work environment by prioritizing work and coordinating task/project schedules.
* Must be able to manage and decompose requirements in specific technical areas.
* Strong communications and ability to work in a team environment is a must.
* Selected candidate may apply standard methodologies but is responsible for innovative thinking, problem solving, and independent judgment in resolving complex issues.
*Bonus points if you have:* * ● Strong leadership and reporting skills.
* ● Familiarity with NPR’s, AFOP’s and other NASA and AFRC management systems.
* ● Proven experience with emerging technologies.
* ○ Familiarity with Building Information Modelling, Design/Build project delivery * methodologies, and/or Arc Flash Modelling are a plus! * ● The ability to write corrective action plans.
* ● Working knowledge of NASA ISO AS9100 compliance and regulatory requirements.
* ● Experience working with construction or with federal facilities.
*Essential Requirements:* * Must be a U.

* Must be able to secure and maintain a security clearance.
* Must pass drug testing.
* Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work as a part of a larger team is required.
* Must embrace safety principles to include; adhering to safe work practices and standards while performing daily tasks, taking responsibility for own and coworkers’ safekeeping and encouraging others to work safely.
* Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
* Must perform work activities requiring interaction, negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others.
* Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor.
* With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

*Education:* * BS in Engineering is required.
* Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer or Licensed Registered Architect.
* Minimum of 10 years experience in a supervisory role.
* Minimum of 10 years of design, construction, or maintenance experience.
