About the Position
Our client, a space robotics company, is seeking a Senior/Lead GNC Engineer to lead the development and evolution of their portfolio of VTVL flight vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have experience with implementing all elements of GNC, with in-depth expertise in at least one area.
Additionally, the candidate must have experience with navigation sensors, development of subsystem requirements, troubleshooting, and debugging.
The role requires the ability to lead teams and provide mentorship and guidance to technical teams.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with NASA, defense, and commercial customers to develop the tech needed to make space accessible.
The job is full-time and is located in Mojave, California.
Qualifications
Experience implementing all elements of GNC, with in-depth expertise in at least one area.
Familiarity with system identification, PID tuning, robust controls, & optimal controls.
Familiarity with Kalman filters, strapdown navigation, sensor fusion.
Experience with 3-DoF, point mass, and 6-DoF simulation.
C, C++, Python, MATLAB.
Experience working with navigation sensors including: GNSS, IMU, gyros, accelerometers, magnetometers, altimeters.
Development of subsystem requirements from system requirements.
Hands-on test and integration.
Troubleshooting and debugging.
5-8 years (8+ years for lead) of professional experience in GNC systems.
