Astrobotic’s headquarters is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a second location in Mojave, California.
We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Environmental Health and Safety professional who will use their skill, knowledge, and experience to further our Environmental Health and Safety programs within our work environment that includes operations that will take us to the moon.
This position will oversee the day-to-day facilities operations in our Mojave, CA as well as support our PA facilities to promote the wellbeing of our teams.
The ideal person will be well versed in implementing safety policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Job Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day facilities activities at our Mojave, CA site to ensure procedural and operational requirements are defined and enforced through instructional guidance, correct procedures, and applicable techniques to perform specific skills.
Manage long-term priorities as defined through the Operations Department objectives for EHS across the corporation.
Enhance corporate and site specific EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and areas for improvement.
Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors.
Monitor and investigate safety accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain safety records and reports and provide regular updates to management.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies and maintain compliance with permits and other regulatory requirements.
Implement emergency response plans and procedures.
Maintain an understanding of current and emerging local, state, and federal EHS regulations and standards and provide guidance to management on compliance issues.
Provide support to engineering and test operations to evaluate safety, as requested.
Contribute to establishment and maintenance of facilities, including manufacturing facilities.
In Mojave: Work with staff to establish and maintain effective quality management processes, including but not limited to, facilities, shipping / receiving, manufacturing, assembly, and test.
Manage a small facilities staff and coordinate with legacy facilities management.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 5+ years of experience in the design, development, and general operational oversight of EHS disciplines 3+ years of EHS management In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards Experience engaging with hazardous operations and manufacturing environments Experience working with quality management systems Desired Skills & Qualifications: Experience working in aerospace industry Experience leading and managing teams Experience implementing an occupational safety program, including processes, programs and documentation outlined by OSHA and CalOSHA standards Bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis in occupational health and safety, environmental engineering, or system safety engineering Physical Demands: Physically able to conduct inspections Must be able to regularly lift to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed Salary Range: $115,000-$155,000 The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position.
The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and the candidates professional experience.
Base salary is just one component of Astrobotic’s competitive total rewards strategy.
