This role manages the Quality Control and Quality Assurance of a project at NAWS China Lake in Ridgecrest, California.
Position Summary:
Quality Control Manager (QCM) and Assurance Manager (QAM): Oversee compliance of approved materials, assist with US Navy and project engineer with subcontractor pre-construction meetings, oversee testing, observation, and documentation associated with Building Enclosure Commissioning.
Conduct the initial building start-up and assist with scheduling coordination visits from owner/IOR.
Candidates should have a high level of coordination/technical communication skills.
Essential Duties of the X role include but are not limited to:
Administration: Procure and maintain all subcontractor daily reports submitted to the Owner.
Assist the Project Superintendent with site safety, safety orientation, establish and maintain records for review by owner and OSHA.
Lead the construction team through the commissioning process.
Assist the construction team with close out of the project.
To be successful in this role, a qualified candidate will:
Have completed the course entitled “Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors” and maintain a current certificate.
Possess a with a minimum of 5 years of combined experience in the following positions: Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer or Construction Manager on similar size and type construction contracts which included the major trades that are part of this Contract.
Have at least two years’ experience as a QC Manager.
Be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1, and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
Be a graduate of a four year accredited college or university program in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science.
Bachelor degree in construction related field.
Basic knowledge of reading Blue Prints.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Intermediate computer skills.
Proficient in MS Office Suite with emphasis on Excel.
Knowledge of Project Management Software including Procore or equivalent is preferred.
Familiar with the use of Bluebeam
Self-Starter
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work with all types of personalities.
