Job Overview:
With a role as a Counter Manager in the Macy's Cosmetics Department, you will be responsible for supervising the complete operations of a cosmetics line, including developing a team of highly productive Beauty Advisors.
Additionally, you will make one-on-one connections with customers to learn their sense of beauty and style, develop your artistic side through customer consultation and make-up and product application, and attain a sense of accomplishment when your skills combine with your passion for beauty to reach personal and team sales goals.

Additionally, during key events and peak selling times, Macy's may offer additional shifts to our associates, which they may pick up using the self-scheduling tool.

Essential Functions:
Recruit, train, coach, motivate, and develop new and incumbent associates on company policies and procedures, product knowledge, and personal and department productivity goals
Review and analyze business performance of daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual sales results
Review advertising calendar and ensure proper execution of events
Communicate credit goal specifics and expectations
Monitor associate productivity levels and provide coaching and feedback
Ensure timely processing of new receipts, damages, testers, and return to vendors (RTVs) through delegation to self and staff
Develop and implement business driving events to achieve department goals
Supervise proper presentation, organization, storing, and replenishment of stock
Sell merchandise through effective customer service techniques and professional selling skills to reach personal productivity goals
Alert Sales Manager of needs and concerns of the business and staff
Communicate regularly with vendors, planners, distributors, and buyers regarding stock needs, customer preferences, and special events
Be in compliance with all hygiene standards
Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
Qualifications and Competencies:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1-2 years related experience
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
Essential Physical Requirements:
Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department
May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping and color vision
Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
