Essential Job Duties:
Reporting directly to the EVS Director or designee, Supervisor is responsible for directly overseeing the evening/night day-to-day EVS operations and assignments.
Routinely reviews and provides training and guidance to staff level positions and ensure that assigned areas are properly cleaned and maintained according to hospital policies and standards of quality and safety.
The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring supplies and equipment are maintained properly and supplies are ordered.
Responsible for preparing CAPMAN Data, department schedule, manage vacation requests/call-offs, and assign appropriate staffing to ensure for sufficient coverage, as well as coach staff as directed.
Performs hospital rounds and patient interviews along with inspections to ensure staff complete all assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
Available for daily huddles and meetings with staff and routinely attends hospital department meetings seeking ways to improve service for all customers.
Works in collaboration with the Engineering Department for the input and completion of all maintenance requests and work orders.
Works on special projects and committees as assigned by the Director of EVS.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
Ability to plan, organize, train, and manage all department personnel in the EVS Department.
Ability to direct and control housekeeping activities and evaluate cleanliness and neatness of work against established procedures.
Knowledge of hospital infection control, sanitation protocols, and cleaning methods.
Ability to develop in-service training programs.
Ability to analyze hospital EVS personnel problems, evaluate alternatives, and devise workable solutions.
Ability to prepare budget requests including labor cost, equipment, and material requirements.
Ability to interpret and analyze TJC guidelines to ensure compliance with TJC requirements.
Computation and record keeping ability.
Minimum of three years’ experience in supervisory position in a hospital or similar institution.
Courses in hospital housekeeping or institutional management are helpful.
Experience in functional supervision is essential, whether gained from employment or practical training.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Special courses in housekeeping or institutional management are helpful.
CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
