Description:
Golden Queen Mining Company, LLC (the “Company”) is operating a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California.
The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.
Golden Queen Mining Company is looking for Crushing Plant maintenance mechanics to repair crushers and conveyor belts that feed our heap leach pads.
The right candidate will have knowledge of crusher systems, such as jaw, cone and HPGR crushers, screens, portable conveyors, and stacker conveyors.
Must have knowledge of conveyor systems, belt alignments, and compressors.
Welding certificate a plus, but not required.
Tools provided for entry level position.
This position reports to the Plant Maintenance General Foreman.
This is a safety sensitive position with overtime, an alternative work schedule and opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities:
This position is for an entry level Mechanic I.
Employee will start at entry level with the expectation to continue to improve in the field of mechanical maintenance.
Employee will be required to meet and exceed certain goals and expectations to be considered for advancement to the next level.
Basic responsibilities include:
Maintains, repairs and troubleshoots conveyor belts, including stacker conveyors.
Maintain various crushing systems, including jaw crushers, cone crushers, and HPGR crushers maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance practices.
Knowledge of Motor, gearbox and pulley alignments.
Knowledge of gearbox installation, repairs, and rebuilds.
Knowledge of grease and hydraulic systems.
Maintain proper lubrication practices.
Works closely with planning department to schedule maintenance and complete work orders
Completion of all work area and equipment inspections
Follows all company policies and safety/environmental regulations
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience working on conveyor belts, and crushing systems preferred
Knowledge of compressors.
Knowledge of equipment lubrication preferred
Experience with small equipment maintenance and repair preferred
Welding certification a plus
Mining experience a plus
Must be punctual and have good attendance
Able to follow instructions
Valid Driver License
