Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/ Principal Manufacturing Engineer.
This position is for Palmdale, CA.
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering Team working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.
Manufacturing Engineers for Aeronautics Systems are expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems.
They are problem solvers who have the ability to provide results that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.
We seek Manufacturing Engineers that use a unique skill set that includes a hands-on approach and act as the technical representative voice for the Manufacturing organization.
**This position requires the ability to work a 4/10 schedule and 2nd shift (4:00pm - 2:30am) Responsibilities The selected candidate will design and develop manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
Other duties may include: Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Basic Qualifications This requisition may be filled at either a Manufacturing Engineer level or a Principal Manufacturing Engineer level based on the qualifications below.
Manufacturing Engineer Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication or production manufacturing operation; OR Master's Degree with 0 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication or production manufacturing operations.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Access Program within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Ability to work any shift as needed by the business.
Principal Manufacturing Engineer Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication or production manufacturing operation; OR Master's Degree with 3 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication or production manufacturing Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level clearance, including Special Access Program within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Ability to work any shift as needed by the business.
Preferred Qualifications: STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical) Familiar with Master Gage Tooling Experience with special tool processes Experience in structural assembly operations Experience with composite fabrication and repair Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Interchangeable and Replaceable Parts Requirements( I&R), CAD (CATIA, Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.
) Salary Range: $73,600 - $110,400 Salary Range 2: $95,000 - $142,400 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
