Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Level 2 or Level 3 Fuel Systems Operator to join our team! This position will be located on site in Palmdale, California.
Essential Functions: Maintains and operates fuel and facilities and equipment Receives, stores, and issues fuel products Performs quality analysis on fuel products Performs operator maintenance on fuel vehicles and equipment, and performs operator maintenance on fuels facilities Prepares receipt, issue, and inventory documents for fuel products accountability Operates specialized mobility fuels equipment Understand and follow instructions, policies, and procedures of an Air Force installation Maintains and repairs multiple jet fuel systems including fuel trucks Performs technical fuel functions including but not limited to replacing broken valves, gaskets, seals, pipes, fittings, ordering of parts, correct pumping equipment misalignment, and calibration to keep systems operating properly Orders, receives, inspects, test, and distributes jet fuel delivered on site Will coordinate refueling requirements with supported agencies and ensures appropriate prioritization of support requirements Follows safety and environmental protection procedures in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws The candidate will be placed into one of the shifts below: 4/10 1st Shift: 4 days a week/10 hour days – Regular day shift hours 4/10 2nd Shift: 4 days a week/10 hour days – 3:00pm-1:30am 3/10 1st Shift: 3 days a week/10 hour days – Regular day shift hours 3/10 2nd Shift: 3 days a week/10 hour days –3:00pm-1:30am This requisition may be filled as either a Level 2 Fuel Systems Operator or a Level 3 Principal Fuel Systems Operator.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 2 Fuel Systems Operator: High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of experience in receipt, storage, quality control and issue of petroleum products Must be familiar with flight line driving, most work outside in all weather conditions Must be available to work any shift, any day for any operation including holidays and weekends Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance Required to safely lift up to 75 pounds, and climb ladders Must possess a valid state's driver's license Basic Qualifications for a Level 3 Principal Fuel Systems Operator: High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of experience in receipt, storage, quality control and issue of petroleum products Must be familiar with flight line driving, most work outside in all weather conditions Must be available to work any shift, any day for any operation including holidays and weekends Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance Required to safely lift up to 75 pounds, and climb ladders Must possess a valid state's driver's license CDL Class B endorsement is required along with Hazardous Material Endorsement, Air Brakes, and Tanker Preferred Qualifications: Active Security Clearance Experience in the operation of aviation and ground fuels storage and dispensing systems, mobile and fixed fuel systems, and the servicing of military or civilian aircraft Liquid fuel maintenance experience Refueling maintenance experience We offer flexible work arrangements, phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment.

Salary Range: $53,000 - $88,300 Salary Range 2: $62,900 - $104,900 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
