JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.
S.
Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II.
JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Under close supervision, a Field Engineer I performs a variety of fundamental field engineering tasks in the installation, operations, testing, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems.
Work is at an entry level and is generally performed as a member of a project team.
Employee will be responsible for performing the following functions/duties: Conduct research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers in obtaining technical information Keep informed of and study currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to engineering specialty Perform fundamental engineering tasks requiring standard techniques, such as tolerance studies and design calculations Plan and carry out successive engineering steps and resolve technical problems by standard practices and techniques Support projects with limited scope or parts of more complex projects with detailed instructions on the intent and scope of the documents to be prepared Assist in preparation of reports, correspondence, or technical studies Perform other job-related duties, as required RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION Working under general technical guidance, the Field Engineer I is expected to perform the following tasks: inspect, operate, and maintain ARDS and CRIIS GPS Pods; perform pre-flight set-up/ops check of GAINR, G-Lite, and GRITS TSPI sensors; and perform C(G)-Band Beacon ops checks.
Troubleshooting of these systems, sometimes under the guidance of TSPI Engineering, will be required when these systems exhibit anomalies.
Other duties include maintaining an assigned vehicle, maintaining assigned JT4 tools and equipment, assisting in the preparation of reports and technical correspondence, pickup/delivery of material and assets from/to JT4 Logistics, and other related duties as assigned.
The candidate selected for this position must have proficient knowledge of basic electronics and satellite navigation to operate sensors and make real-time operational decisions regarding readiness to support missions.
The candidate must be able to work independently and as an integral part of a team, capable of making sound decisions under pressure.
Mission support is performed mostly outdoors in the hazardous flightline environment under all weather conditions.
Effective communication with customers, involving email correspondence, phone/radio interactions, and face-to-face meetings, is imperative.
Routine preventative maintenance of all equipment, by established procedures (Local Work Cards), operating protocols, technical manuals, and other authoritative documentation, is a fundamental responsibility.
Additionally, the candidate should be prepared to participate in the hands-on installation of new systems.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE Associates degree in engineering or formal academic/vocational training or military equivalent and 4 or more years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field.
Must have a professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles, and a familiarity with related engineering fields.
Must have a practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform relatively routine engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions.
Incumbent must have a valid, current state driver's license.
Must qualify for and maintain a Security Clearance.

SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $68,120 to $81,120 annually.
